Hyundai promises 12 new crossovers by the end of 2021November 10, 2020
The Korean automaker spoke about its plans to expand its current model range during a press conference dedicated to the presentation of the next generation Hyundai Tucson for the North American market.
According to Hyundai representatives, by the end of 2021, the brand is going to offer customers 12 updated and new crossovers at once. Moreover, the upgrade of existing models promises to be significant.
The Koreans were stingy with details. Obviously, this list will include the previously announced Kona, Santa Fe and Tucson in 2022. Among the future car innovations also appear the Santa Cruz pickup and the sensational Ioniq 5 electric car, the appearance of which the Koreans once hinted at with a concept car 45. The automaker will bring to the market cars with gasoline engines, as well as electric cars, hybrids and plug-in hybrid models. It will not do without the “sports” cars of the N Performance series.
So, this year the brand introduced an updated version of the Kona. The crossover, among other things, has a version with the prefix N. Such an SUV is expected to have a two-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine producing 275 horsepower.
Earlier AutoTimesNews said that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will receive a cooler battery than Tesla. The engineers of the Korean company SK Innovation are working on the innovative battery. Such a battery guarantees the electric car an increased power reserve and “fast” charging.
