The test prototype of the first pickup of the Korean automaker is increasingly found on public roads and is seen by photo spies. Hyundai is already testing new items.

After a speech by the Korean automaker that they will build their own pickup truck at a plant in Alabama, where production will begin in 2021, photos of the prototype pickup truck with the final body appeared.

It is expected that the new car will be called Santa Cruz, and its debut will take place in the United States, in the same country it will be assembled. It is known that a small pickup received an all-wheel drive system, and the cabin will be offered in various formats. Of course, most of this is just rumors at the moment, but Hyundai representatives are giving birth to them.

Pickup truck tests are secretly taking place at the Hyundai test site in California, near Los Angeles.

Since production will begin in the year 2021, it will be logical to assume that the testing of new items has already begun. It is expected that the pickup should inherit a number of design decisions from modern models of the brand, it will be “much more peculiar.”

Information on the technical characteristics of the model has not yet appeared, but, according to preliminary data, the pickup will be equipped with a hybrid power plant with a 2.5-liter engine with an electric motor. It is reported that its target market will be the people whom the Korean brand describes in its press release as “a new generation of customers.” Regarding how the pickup will look, remains to be seen, however, new photos may appear in the near future. Hyundai used photos of the Santa Cruz concept for its announcement, which would make it believe that the upcoming truck would be much like a prototype.
