Hyundai mysterious cross-country caught again during the tests: is coming seven-seater Tucson?

It is assumed that the next-generation Tucson mule hit the lens. The new crossover should enter the market after 2020.

The first photos of the mysterious SUV Hyundai posted on the Web in September 2018. They were made in China. This time the car was caught in Korea. The snapshot posted the local site Bobaedream. In the picture we see a prototype: the second generation Hyundai ix35, which is available only in Celestial Empire, was taken as the basis for a mule. The body is stretched – apparently, the brand is preparing for the premiere of a seven-seater crossover.

Chinese ix35 three-row version does not shine, so it was assumed that Hyundai will release a completely new model. Now, another version has appeared: Koreans are testing the next-generation Tucson, which supposedly should be equipped with a seven-seater version. The plans of the brand to develop a new modification for Tucson previously reported Indian media, citing its own sources within the company.

The exact timing of the next Tucson premiere is unknown. Indian media outlets called the gap between 2020 and 2023. There are no details about the “stuffing” either, and it is still difficult to fantasize about the exterior. The fact is that in one of his recent interviews, Hyundai Vice President of Design San Jupe Lee let it slip that the crossover would have a “shocking” look, but he never revealed the details.

The current Tucson with a factory TL index is released from 2015; last year it experienced a restyling. The length of the current global cross is 4480 mm, wheelbase – 2670 mm. It is curious that in China the model is being sold at the same time as the new ix35, although it was Tucson that once drove the former ix35 out of almost all markets. At the same time in 2018, the Chinese Tucson was updated under a separate scenario. He has a completely different exterior and interior. The length of the Chinese Tucson is 4545 mm, the distance between the axes is the same as that of the “world” model. In ix35, these figures are 4435 and 2640 mm respectively.

Recall that just a few days ago, Hyundai brought to the market another new crossover – the compact Venue. The first market for this model was India. And in the second half of 2019 in China, the new generation ix25 SUV will go on sale.
