Hyundai Ioniq 5 prototype spotted in testsOctober 20, 2020
The newest car Hyundai Ioniq 5 has already received serial headlights and lanterns.
The Korean company is working on a new electric car, which will be released under the Ioniq sub-brand. On the eve, the prototype of the electric car was spotted during tests with massive camouflage, but it should be noted that the model already has serial optics both in front and in the back.
The new Ioniq 5 will be based on a completely new dedicated E-GMP platform. In addition, the novelty will receive a high-capacity battery and advanced functionality. The minimum price of the model will be $ 42,900. The Ioniq 5 will be the first family electric car in South Korea to have a 500 km range on a single charge, and it will be available for purchase for $ 25,700, according to ETNews, with subsidies from the South Korean government.
Hyundai plans to shatter the consumer perception that EVs are always more expensive than conventional cars. The Ioniq 5 is expected to go on sale in South Korea next April and will retail for between $ 42,900 and $ 45,400 depending on battery capacity of 58 or 72 kWh respectively. It is expected that the range will be in the range of 450 to 500 km. The electric car will be available in 2WD or 4WD variants as an option.
It will also be the first electric vehicle in the world to feature V2L (Vehicle to Load), which allows users to freely use up to 24 kWh of electricity. As a result, it is ideal for camping.
Unlike Hyundai Motor Group’s current electric vehicles, the Ioniq 5 will have cameras instead of side mirrors for the first time and will not have a gearbox that allows it to move freely between the driver’s and passenger’s seat. The new platform maximizes interior space. The Ioniq 5 will be the first South Korean electric vehicle to receive 350 kW ultra-fast charging and the latest advanced driver assistance system.
Hyundai Motor Company views the Ioniq 5 as the best value for money electric vehicle among domestic and foreign electric vehicles, as it delivers an optimal driving experience, the latest safety and convenience features, and a huge interior space.
