Hyundai today unveiled the production version of the Ioniq 5 electric car.

The novelty is built on the E-GMP electric platform and strongly resembles the prototype 45 Concept, presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2019. The new model, like the concept, has an angular design with sharp lines and slight protrusions, and retractable door handles give it a sleek profile.

The volume of the luggage compartment of the car is 531 liters, while this figure can be increased to almost 1600 liters by folding the second row of seats. In addition, the model has a luggage compartment in front, the volume of which, depending on the type of drive, can be either 24 liters (all-wheel drive) or 57 (rear-wheel drive).

The interior of the car also has a front panel with two 12-inch touchscreens, seats that slide forward and backward, while the front seats tilt at such an angle that creates a “zero gravity” feeling. According to the Korean company, recycled materials were used in the interior. The Ioniq 5 received a 58 kWh battery and one electric motor on the rear axle with 168 hp. and 350 Nm of torque. In this configuration, the model can accelerate to 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds. The model is also offered with a 58 kWh battery, two electric motors with a total power of 232 hp. (605 Nm). In this case, acceleration to the first “hundred” takes only 6.1 seconds. The novelty can also be equipped with a 72 kW / h battery and one 215 hp electric motor. (350 Nm). Such a car can accelerate to 100 km / h in 7.4 seconds. At the same time, the most powerful version of the model is the all-wheel drive version with a battery of the same capacity and two electric units with a total capacity of 302 hp. (605 Nm). Such a modification takes 5.2 seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h.

As noted in Hyundai, a variation of an electric car with rear-wheel drive and a capacious battery can travel up to 480 kilometers on a single charge. In turn, it takes 18 minutes to recharge the battery from 10 to 80% with the fast charger.

The Korean company said that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car, which will be offered in nine body shades, will hit the market this year. At the same time, there is no information on the cost of information yet.
