The Korean automaker hints at the development of a “charged” Tucson N.

The head of the Hyundai product line, Lorenz Glaab, hinted that the Korean company is closely monitoring the market and considers the sports crossover segment to be a promising segment. Also, a brand representative noted that the company will release more models with the letter N.

In an interview with GoAuto, Lorenz Glaab declined to accurately answer the question about the appearance of the Tucson N, but mentioned that none of the direct competitors of the model offer anything similar.

Hyundai chief designer Sang Yup Lee, in turn, spoke about the difference between the N-models and the N Line. Sang Yup Lee pointed out that the N models have high performance, advanced functionality and real power, while the versions with the N Line package focus only on design.

Insiders report that the “charged” Hyundai Tucson will receive a 2.5-liter turbo engine in combination with a preselective eight-speed robotic transmission. This combination has already been used on the Sonata N Line, where the engine develops 294 hp. and 420 Nm of torque. Most likely, the Tucson N Line will inherit the power unit from Sonata, and for the flagship modification of the Tucson N, the engine will be boosted to about 340 hp.

At the moment, representatives of the brand did not disclose the release date of the new model under the N sub-brand, and there is no information at all about the date of the appearance of the “hot” Tucson.
