Hyundai began road tests of the charged version of the fastest i30, which will receive a prefix N in the name. The first spy photos of new items published by Autoevolution.

From the standard car debuting last summer, the N-modification will feature a new suspension, reinforced braking mechanisms and aerodynamic body kit. In particular, it will include side skirts and a rear diffuser with a red stripe. In addition, the sports fastback will receive another radiator grille and twin exhaust pipes.

The novelty will be equipped with a two-liter supercharging unit, which is installed on a hot-hatch Hyundai i30 N, where it develops 275 horsepower. Such a motor, working in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission, allows the hatchback to accelerate from place to 100 km/h in six seconds.

According to preliminary data, the N-modification of Fastback I30 will debut in the current year, but its sales will not start until 2019.

In Europe, the standard Hyundai i30 Fastback, which is lower and longer than the hatchback by 30 and 115 mm respectively, is offered with gasoline and diesel engines. Among the first: a gasoline three-cylinder turbo engine with a working capacity of one liter of 120 hp, as well as a 140-hp 1.4-liter unit. The first is combined only with a six-speed manual transmission, and a more powerful motor is also able to work with a seven-speed automatic transmission with two clutches.

The diesel line is represented by 1.6-liter engines with a capacity of 110 and 136 horsepower. Both motors can be aggregated both mechanically and with a automatic transmission.
