Hyundai Veloster N and Ioniq will take part in the competition Search for the Ultimate Street Car

The US Hyundai office introduced special versions of Veloster N and electric Ioniq. The hot-hatch Hyundai Veloster N is equipped with a two-liter turbo four, which produces 275 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque. The unit is equipped with an electronic control unit Remus Powerizer with a more aggressive card ignition timing, improving the responsiveness of the gas pedal device Responder, exhaust with active dampers, experimental cold inlet and intercooler.

Suspension of the Veloster N is understated by 30 millimeters, the brakes are replaced by racing Wilwood with discs and calipers made of aluminum. Drives – 19-inch BBS LM-R shod in tires Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R dimension 245/35 R19. In addition, the hatchback is equipped with struts Pierce Motorsports, adjustable stabilizers of lateral stability.

Inside, the Recaro racing seats, six-point Sparco Enduro safety belts and a detachable safety cage are installed.

The electric Hyundai Ioniq was equipped with an electric motor from the Kona crossover, the output of which is 204 forces and 395 Nm of torque (the usual Ioniq engine produces 120 forces and 295 Nm torque). The electric car accelerates to 96 kilometers per hour in 5.8 seconds, from zero to 160 kilometers per hour – in 15.7 seconds. The maximum speed is 185 kilometers per hour.

In addition to the new electric motor, Ioniq rewrote the power plant control program, improved the cooling of power electronics and batteries, and also equipped the Drexler self-locking differential.
