Hyundai has begun road testing of its smallest third-generation i10 hatchback. Photospies managed to shoot a novelty during tests in Sweden. Pictures of the car were posted edition Motor1. According to them, the premiere of the car will take place before the end of this year. The main competitors of the model are called Volkswagen Up and Skoda Citigo.
On spy photos, the hatch is hidden under camouflage, but now we can already say that the car will keep the overall style of the model. It is expected that the new product will grow significantly in size compared with its predecessor. The wheelbase of the current i10, which was introduced back in 2016, is 2385.
It is not yet known whether changes in the hatchback’s motor range are expected. At the moment, i10 is equipped with a 1.0-liter gasoline engine. Engine power is 66 horsepower. Also available is a 1.25-liter petrol unit with a return of 87 horsepower. Engines can work in conjunction with a five-speed manual gearbox, which is standard, or with a four-speed automatic transmission.
Perhaps the novelty will also receive a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. This engine is now installed on the Kia Picanto. Power unit is 100 horsepower. Such an engine will probably be installed on top modifications of the third generation i10 hatchback.
