Hyundai announced the premiere of the cheapest crossoverMarch 28, 2019
The new compact Hyundai crossover called the Venue will be shown at the New York Auto Show in April
Hyundai has published a teaser video showing a new compact crossover. The car will receive the name Venue and take a place one step below the Kona. The official premiere of the novelty will be held at the New York Auto Show on April 17.
The most affordable crossover in the family will be designed to attract new young buyers. It is expected that the car will differ from the older Kona more traditional design and body with a rapid contour.
“Venue symbolizes a trendy, unique style, ideal for the newest and smallest CUV Hyundai,” the company said.
All technical specifications are kept secret. According to unofficial data, the 1.6-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, coupled with a variator, will be included in the engine range. In addition, supercharged engines of the Kappa family with working volumes of 1.0 and 1.4, combined with a seven-band robotic gearbox with two clutches, will be available.
The driver will be available to the system of automatic emergency braking, the control function of “dead” zones and the system of help when starting on the rise. In addition, the car will be equipped with a multimedia complex with an eight-inch touch screen and keyless entry system to the salon.
Also on the New York Motor Show debuts a new crossover brand Kia, which will be called Tusker. The model will be built on the same modular platform as the next-generation Hyundai Creta. On this chassis, it will be possible to create cars with a seven-seater cabin, but the Tusker will be offered exclusively with five seats.
