Hypercar SSC Tuatara has been tested on public roadsDecember 8, 2018
At the beginning of this year, the new SSC Tuatara hypercar was presented at the Pebble Beach car show. And only now the company has published evidence of the model’s readiness for access to public roads.
The last time we heard any news about the SSC Tuatara, a video of its 5.9-liter twin-turbo engine tested on a chassis dynamometer was shown. Now the video has a short video for 10 seconds, showing a future novelty on public roads. Apparently, we are preparing a car that will easily overtake the Bugatti Veyron.
It is difficult to say exactly where SCC tested Tuatara, but the short video shows us the possibility of speeding up the new hypercar when overtaking the Ultimate Aero XT. As a power unit will be used 1,750 hp unit. It is assumed that the acceleration to 100 km/h will take only 2.5 seconds, and a quarter mile can be overcome in 9.75 seconds.
Currently Koenigsegg Agera RS is the fastest car that can accelerate to 447 km / h. And now most manufacturers are striving not only to overcome this mark, but also to reach a speed of 482 km / h (300 miles per hour). Therefore, it is logical to assume that the maximum speed of the Tuatara will be within these limits.
Unfortunately, now the company does not report the maximum speed, the cost and the date of the official presentation also remain unknown.
