Croatian company Rimac will develop a power plant, batteries and software for the new Italian hypercar Pininfarina
The new electric hypercar of the Italian body studio Pininfarina – PF0 – will receive a power unit and batteries from the Croatian company Rimac. This is reported by Autocar.
Two companies signed a cooperation agreement, under which Croats will also develop software for powertrains. According to preliminary data, the electric hypercar Pininfarina PF0 will be equipped with four electric motors, which in total will produce about 2000 horsepower.
Hypercar will be able to accelerate from its place to the first “hundred” in less than two seconds, and its maximum speed will be 400 km per hour. The stock of batteries is enough to drive without recharging up to 500 kilometers.
According to preliminary data, Pininfarina, which is now owned by the Indian Mahindra Group, will produce only 150 of these cars. The sales of electric hypercar will start in 2020.
The latest novelty of the company Rimac was the hypercar C_Two, presented in the spring of 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show. The car was equipped with two electric engines, the total output of which was 1914 hp. and 2300 Nm of torque. Motors working in pairs with a special single-stage transmission, allow the car to accelerate from a place to 100 km / h in 1.85 seconds, and its maximum speed is 415 km per hour.
