Hydrogen hypercar Hyperion XP-1 spotted on trials in Las VegasJanuary 16, 2021
A Hyperion XP-1 hydrogen hypercar was spotted in Las Vegas during road tests. The corresponding images were recently published on the Internet.
The XP-1 is powered by a hydrogen powertrain consisting of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell, a carbon fiber hydrogen storage system and ultracapacitor energy storage technology. The car, in particular, has several electric motors, an all-wheel drive system and a sports 3-speed transmission.
As for the dynamic performance of the upcoming hypercar, it will be able to accelerate to 96 km / h in 2.2 seconds and accelerate to a maximum of 356 km / h. In turn, on one tank, the car will be able to travel up to 1635 km, while refueling will take less than five minutes.
The XP-1 features a carbon titanium monocoque and a lightweight body that weighs less than 1032 kg. It is worth saying that this car as a whole resembles a car from a sci-fi movie due to the doors with a V-shaped wing, a streamlined glass canopy and active aerodynamic blades on the sides.
Production of the upcoming hydrogen hypercar should start already in 2022. In total, it is planned to release 300 copies of the model. There is no information about the cost at the moment.
In addition, some time ago it was noted that the serial modification of the new sports car Nissan Z was declassified on patent images. It is worth saying that the premiere of this new product of the Japanese brand is expected in 2021.
