Hybrid Volkswagen Golf GTE 2020 showed on spy photosSeptember 5, 2019
Next month, Volkswagen will introduce a new generation of its legendary Golf hatchback. A fresh batch of spy photos suggests that the GTE version is just around the corner. Together with the new ID.3 electric car, such a Volkswagen Golf GTE will become the most environmentally friendly car brand.
Photo spies captured on the photo a prototype of the new version of the Volkswagen Golf GTE. The fact that we are faced with a hybrid is indicated, for example, by a charging port, the cover of which is located on the front wing from the driver’s side. In general, the appearance of the new product repeats the look of the classic Golf. At the same time, experts expect to see a new front bumper and a special GTE grille. The current hybrid Golf has C-shape LED DRLs. Whether this detail will remain on the 2020 model is not reported.
A modernized dashboard appeared in the car interior, which was equipped with fewer traditional controls.
Under the hood, newcomers expect to see a hybrid 48-volt system working in tandem with the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI gasoline engines, as well as with the new 1.5-liter diesel engine and the updated 2.0 TD. An engine is also provided for a liter and a half, running on compressed natural gas. It will be labeled with the TGI Evo. The current version of the model is equipped with a power plant based on a 1.4-liter TSI and an electric engine, whose total power reaches 201 hp.
There is also a more powerful version of the car with a 268-horsepower engine. Unfortunately, she remained the only prototype created for the special event. More details about the Volkswagen Golf GTE 2020 we will probably find out at the premiere of the standard Golf.
