Hybrid model Ford Police Interceptor 2020 more economical than the previousSeptember 5, 2019
Ford has received over 2,600 orders from U.S. agencies for the 2020 Interceptor Hybrid Police Officer Car.
The automaker believes that the efficiency of the hybrid has contributed to increased demand. The company claims that a hybrid police SUV will help reduce operating costs, since the model is 41% more economical than previous-generation police cars. A completely new hybrid police car consumes 10.2 liters per 100 km in the city, 9.8 liters per 100 km on the highway and 9.8 liters per 100 km for combined driving. According to Ford estimates, savings will range from $ 3,500 to $ 5,700 per vehicle per year.
The Ford Police Interceptor 2020 was tested for strength and durability. It provides a special cooling system, special brakes, steel wheels, tires and caps. The SUV passed the test for a side collision, crossing a railway crossing at a speed of 48 km / h and overcoming a water barrier with a depth of 45.7 cm at a speed of 24 km / h and 25.4 cm at a speed of 64 km / h. The Ford Police Interceptor is based on the Ford Explorer Hybrid 2020. The new Utility Hybrid is equipped with a standard 3.3-liter hybrid engine. Deliveries to the police hybrid police car will begin in the fall of 2019.
