The company Mitsubishi Motors introduced an updated hybrid crossover Outlander PHEV, which underwent significant modernization. The public premiere of the novelty will be held in early March within the framework of the Geneva Motor Show.
In the power plant new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV now used a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, working on the Atkinson cycle, which replaced the previous two-liter unit with the Otto cycle. The company has not yet named the characteristics of the new unit, but noted that it differs from its predecessor with increased torque, smoother operation and improved economy.
Plus, the generator’s power and the rear electric unit was increased by 10%, and the power consumption of the traction battery increased by 15% – to 13.8 kilowatt-hours. Finally, the modes Normal and 4WD Lock (all-wheel drive with locking) added the modes Sport and Snow – for more dynamic driving and driving on a snowy or slippery surface.
As for the exterior, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2018 model year will receive a new LED head optics, an upgraded radiator grille with other 18-inch alloy wheels, and an enlarged rear spoiler.
In the cabin there were seats of a modified form with reinforced lateral support, a new instrument panel, other mechanical switches and other rear air conditioning deflectors.
