Hybrid Mercedes-AMG S63e caught on tests in SwedenJanuary 22, 2021
The fact that we have a hybrid Mercedes is indicated by the charger port on the left rear panel.
Mercedes is actively electrifying its lineup. And the process is not limited to the luxurious S-Class. Charged AMG models will also receive electrified versions with S63e and S73e badges. On a road test in Sweden, the S63e hybrid prototype was photographed. The total camouflage does not hide the charging door, so we can assume that the photos show the PHEV AMG model.
The AMG family is indicated by a stiffer suspension, larger and wider wheels, massive brakes and a pair of twin tailpipes. The novelty can be set in motion by a four-liter twin-turbo V8 powered by an electric motor on the rear axle.
Such a hybrid power plant can easily demonstrate 700 horsepower. But the AMG S73e version will be capable of 805 hp. There are no details on the battery for future AMG hybrid models.
You can look at the S580e for Europe, which has a 28 kilowatt-hour battery.
With him, a luxury car drives only about 100 kilometers on a battery. The manufacturer has not announced a release date for the AMG plug-in models. In Europe, the novelty may appear this year.
Meanwhile, during test trials on a snow-covered track, they noticed the new 2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe. Most likely, we are talking about the performance version of the M Performance. True, we should not expect his early debut yet.
