Hybrid Honda Insight test prototype spotted In IndiaNovember 8, 2019
A spotted car could mark Insight coming to the local market, but the company can also test hybrid systems for the Indian model line. Car test prototype Honda Insight was photographed by eyewitnesses.
Honda introduced the Hybrid Insight in international markets back in 2018 after a four-year hiatus. Now the model has been seen in one of the emerging markets – in India. This may mean that the company is preparing to bring it to the local market, as well as to the markets of other developing countries.
Although in the photos you can see that the sedan is being tested without any camouflage. Moreover, the prototype is equipped with a system for checking the level of emissions. This may mean that the company is testing its own hybrid system to add it to some models in the Indian market.
President and CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd, Gaku Nakanishi, said earlier that in the next three years, the company will introduce a more affordable and environmentally friendly hybrid for budget models. Hybrid technology is the most viable way to meet future environmental standards.
The Insight uses an Atkinson 1.5-liter gasoline engine in combination with an electric motor.
Meanwhile, the date of the start of sales of the new Honda Breeze crossover became known. The new compact crossover based on the Honda CR-V is ready to conquer the Chinese car market.
