Hybrid Bentley Bentayga vs gasoline – which is more profitableApril 14, 2020
The results of the studies were very interesting and even a little unexpected.
On Tuesday, April 14, InsideEV’s published an interesting study that conducted a comparative analysis of the fuel economy and fuel consumption of a Bentley Bentayga with a gasoline and hybrid engine. The tests were conducted by the US Environmental Protection Agency. For a correct comparison, cars were tested in mixed and suburban cycles.
The Bentley Bentayga Hybrid is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 engine, which works in tandem with an electric motor – the total return of such a power plant reaches 449 hp. The maximum speed of such a car is 254 km / h, and acceleration to 100 km / h takes only 5.5 seconds. Under the hood of the gasoline modification, there is a 4.0-liter V8 engine with 550 hp.
When driving on the highway, the average fuel consumption for the hybrid version was 11.2 liters, and for a gasoline engine it was only 10.2 liters. Thus, a hybrid engine is not always more economical.
But in the combined cycle, the hybrid modification was able to prove itself in all its glory – for a 100 km path such a car consumed 12.4 liters of fuel, and the fuel consumption for the gasoline version was 13.8 liters.
