Husqvarna Norden 901 2021 presented at EICMA 2019November 17, 2019
The main sensation of the Husqvarna booth was the Norden 901 travel enduro of the year 2021. This is not even a concept, but rather a pre-production instance. From conceptual in it, only the lack of rear-view mirrors and direction indicators!
The motorcycle is based on the KTM 790 Adventure R and is distinguished by a new engine from the KTM 890 Duke R 2020, which was also shown at EICMA 2019. The engine was added 90 more cubes, it has a new cylinder head, enlarged intake and exhaust valves, as well as improved performance .
Later, the power unit will be reconfigured for the tourist enduro, but so far in the body of the KTM 890 Duke R 2020 it gives out 121 horsepower and 99 Nm of torque. It is expected that within the next or early 2021, the BMW and Triumph travel enduros in the form of the F900GS and Tiger 900 should come out. However, both of these models will lose to the Austrian bike in performance and equipment, although they will be cheaper.
From Adventure R, the expected novelty borrowed a frame made of chrome-molybdenum pipes, a 48 mm front suspension WP USD with a stroke of 240 mm, a rear monoshock WP-PDS, a pendulum, an underestimated center of gravity due to the location of a 20 liter tank, the Bosch 9.1 MP control unit, which includes mass safety systems, brakes, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spokes, etc.
And the rest of the Husqvarna Norden 901 is completely original. Its design is futuristic, although there is nothing special and innovative in it.
