Hummer 1000-horsepower electric pickup shown on videoMay 2, 2020
GMC, owned by General Motors, has published a short video teaser of the 1000-horsepower electric pickup Hummer EV. At the same time, the company announced that the premiere of the novelty, scheduled for May 20, is postponed indefinitely.
The roller practically does not allow to make out any new details of the future electric SUV, with the exception of the two-row cab. Meanwhile, GMC assures that work on the Hummer EV is ongoing, and perhaps the model will be ready for market launch in the fall of 2021. It is known that the Hammer power plant produces 1,000 horsepower and 15,592 Nm of torque (the value is indicated on the wheels, taking into account the gear ratio of the gearbox), and up to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour), the electric car accelerates in three seconds.
The base of the GMC Hummer EV pickup will be the BT1 electric platform, one of the options for the GMT T1XX truck that underpins the Chevrolet Silverado, the new fifth generation Tahoe / Suburban and Cadillac Escalade. Pickup production will begin at the end of 2021 at the D-HAM Detroit plant – the amount of investment in the enterprise will be $ 2.2 billion, and in addition to the Hummer EV, the Cruise Origin UAV will be assembled there.
