Huawei cars with HarmonyOS will be fully self-driving by 2025June 11, 2021
Huawei aims to create a smart space in the car that is efficient for a variety of applications and use scenarios
Wang Jun, President of Huawei Smart Car Solutions BU, spoke at the 13th China Automotive Forum Blue Book, stating that the Huawei team is working on autonomous driving solutions and aims to make its vehicles fully self-driving by 2025.
Wang Jun said that the company intends to create a smart space in the car that is effective for various applications and use scenarios, which will help create a real smart car and offer users a complete self-driving experience. He also highlighted how important it is to create an ecosystem of smart car apps and develop a completely new dashboard and cockpit.
The Huawei smart dashboard will be powered by the HarmonyOS operating system. Wang Jun also stressed that HarmonyOS will be used in all future smart car solutions.
In April of this year, Huawei and Seres began selling the jointly developed Seres Huawei Smart Selection SF5 hybrid vehicle. Huawei said it plans to sell cars with its technology in 200 of its stores by the end of July 2021. By the end of the year, 1000 Huawei stores will sell cars.
