5.9-liter engine accelerates hypercar SSC Tuatara up to 480 kilometers per hour
The American company SSC North America shared its information on the Tuatara coupe, and also published a video from the V8 calibration designed for the Nelson Racing Engines hypercar. It will give out 1750 horsepower and accelerate the car to 480 kilometers per hour.
The 5.9-liter lower V8 is equipped with two turbochargers, fluid intercoolers and an injection system with two nozzles per cylinder. On ordinary gasoline, the engine develops 1350 horsepower, on the Benzo Ethyl mixture E85 – 1750 horsepower. The combination of two types of fuel gives 1500 forces. The unit on the Tuatara is mated to a six-speed robotized gearbox of the Italian company Cima.
Hypercar is based on carbon monocoque. Body panels of coupe also made of carbon fiber. The mass of the SSC Tuatara is 1247 kilograms, the coefficient of aerodynamic drag is 0.279. In Bugatti Chiron, this figure is equal to 0.38, while for Koenigsegg Agera – 0.33.
