How it works (and mistake) Tesla autopilot showed in 360 degreesNovember 27, 2018
Electric car Tesla in the video rides on autopilot on serpentine
A YouTube user with the nickname Pranav Kodali published a video with visualization of data coming from Tesla’s Autopilot cameras. The 360-degree video shows the work of autopilot version 2.5 while the car is moving along the serpentine, for a bizarre contour called the Dragon Tail.
In the video you can see how the system highlights the boundaries of the roadway, determines the position of the dividing line and moving objects. However, despite the advancement of the autonomous control complex, it sometimes makes mistakes and gets confused in determining the correct lane.
In January of this year, the owner of the Tesla Model S showed how, with the help of an orange, you can deceive the autorun function that is part of Tesla’s autonomous control system. A prerequisite for its work – the driver must always keep his hands on the wheel. For this, sensors that monitor pressure and applied force are integrated into the steering wheel.
