How good is the new generation Renault Zoe electric car?October 7, 2019
Journalists of the foreign edition Auto Express had the opportunity to be one of the first to ride the new generation of the French electric kid Renault Zoe to find out how much the city hatchback has changed.
Engineers of the French Renault brand have been constantly updating their all-electric Zoe model since its introduction on the European market in 2012. But still, the last iteration of the city hatchback at the moment is by far the biggest and most impressive change in the history of this electric car.
The most important event, of course, is the appearance of a new and more powerful 52 kWh battery, which allows Zoe to travel up to 345 km when the battery is fully charged (measurements were carried out according to the current WLTP standard).
Another innovation is the support of fast charging with a power of 50 kW, which can charge the battery to the level to travel about 145 km – it takes only 30 minutes to charge.
In addition to the new battery, the French electric car received a more powerful R135 electric motor, which produces 133 hp. (245 Nm), thanks to which, the baby Zoe can accelerate to the first “hundred” in 10 seconds. The maximum speed is 140 km / h. The basic version of the model, called R110, is equipped with an engine with 108 hp.
The interior of the small electric car is now made of higher quality materials and has a new dashboard design. The salon also boasts a 9.3-inch screen infotainment system and a fully customizable 10-inch virtual display dashboard. Wireless phone charging, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems, as well as upholstery made from recycled materials are also available as an optional extra.
