Hot Wheels announces miniature replica of GMC Syclone pickup truckJuly 26, 2020
A press release published by Hot Wheels says that a miniature 1:64 scale replica of the GMC Syclone pickup will be on sale soon.
Somewhat surprisingly, Hot Wheels is only now presenting a replica of GMC cars in the legendary 1:64 scale. Painted in the same “sinister” black as the original 1991 Syclone, the miniature version of the American pickup gets Hot Wheels RA6 wheels that are very similar to those used on the full-scale GMC Syclone.
The Syclone pickup model will be part of the Hot Wheels Hot Trucks collection.
The original version of the high-performance GMC Syclone truck was a revolution in its day. The car was built on the basis of the compact Sonoma truck, under the hood of which was a 4.3-liter V6 with turbocharging and intercooled. The GMC Syclone features unique exhaust and intake manifolds, a high efficiency throttle body and forced induction. All of these upgrades resulted in an increase in power to 280 horsepower (488 Newton meters).
All of the torque was directed to all four wheels through an enhanced four-speed automatic transmission. Syclone could accelerate to 100 km / h in just 4.3 seconds, a time similar to the more expensive Porsche 911 Turbo supercars and Ferrari models. Even GM’s flagship sports coupe, the Corvette ZR-1, couldn’t outrun the charged pickup in a straight line race.
Recently, AutoTimesNews reported that Hot Wheels is announcing over 30 vehicles for Comic-Con 2020. Hot Wheels has released a video detailing over 30 toy cars made specifically for Comic-Con 2020.
