Hot hatch Honda Civic Type R set a record on the Belgian track Spa-Francorchamps among the production cars with front-wheel drive. Hot hatch was able to drive a circle on the track in 2 minutes and 53.72 seconds.
The car was driven by the Belgian pilot Bertrand Baghett – ex-world champion in endurance races WEC in the category LMP2. Of the main advantages of the Honda Civic Type R, the driver emphasized comfort, as well as very good visibility.
The new Honda Civic Type R was introduced last spring at the Geneva Motor Show. Charged hatchback is equipped with a two-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, developing 320 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The car can accelerate from place to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds, and its maximum speed is 272 km per hour.
Earlier, Honda Civic Type R set a record among front-wheel drive cars at the French circuit Magny-Cours, as well as the “North loop” Nürburgring in Germany. The last track hot hatch was able to pass for 7 minutes and 43.8 seconds.
