Hongqi’s new 5m E-QM5 electric sedan unveiledJune 24, 2021
The premium sub-brand of the Chinese auto giant FAW has presented its next model – a large electric sedan Hongqi E-QM5.
The first acquaintance with this premium electric car took place back in January this year. Now Hongqi E-QM5 is finally ready for production and market debuts.
Externally, the new electric sedan attracts attention with original optics: thin DRLs and interestingly shaped main headlights. The length of the novelty is slightly more than five meters with a wheelbase of 2.99 meters. The silhouette of the sedan gets classic proportions and strict lines: the Chinese decided that the executive car does not need extra aggression in design.
The electric car is 1.91 meters wide and almost 1.57 meters high. This is 10 cm more than the Audi A8 or BMW 7-Series.
In the base, the electric car gets 18-inch wheels and a 433-liter trunk. The Hongqi E-QM5 has separate rear seats with an electric recline, and a retractable footrest is provided for the front passenger. The seats can be controlled using a special remote control hidden in the center armrest.
The sedan gets 4-zone climate control, analog “tidy”, etc.
The Hongqi E-QM5 is powered by an uncontested 136-horsepower electric motor located on the front axle. The 54 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery is designed for a range of up to 431 kilometers. The maximum speed to which a premium electric car can be accelerated does not exceed 130 km / h.
At first, only government agencies and corporate clients will have access to the new product on the home market of the brand. Over time, the sedan will go on sale.
