Hongqi unveils 1400hp Hongqi S9 superhybrid in BeijingSeptember 30, 2020
This concept hybrid supercar, which, according to the developers, will be faster than the same Bugatti Chiron.
This impressive concept car was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. Now Hongqi has unveiled the new product at a home motor show in Beijing. This car is already called the most powerful and most expensive that has ever been produced in the PRC. The hypercar, which was shown at the Beijing Auto Show, is a preliminary version of the production model.
Recall that the circulation of Hongqi S9, according to preliminary information, will be limited to only 70 copies. Each such hybrid will cost fans of hypercars 10 million yuan.
For comparison, the most expensive LaFerrari in the 21st century, released in 2013, received a base price tag of 1.3 million euros. Its circulation was limited to 499 cars, which were instantly sold out.
For the performance of the Chinese super hybrid, an electrified V8 with a return of 1400 horsepower is responsible. To 100 kph Hongqi S9 will accelerate in just 1.9 seconds.
This is almost 0.6 seconds faster than the Bugatti Chiron result. The maximum speed is 400 km / h. The design of the hypercar is quite exotic: a complex front end, bulging fenders, an oversized rear wing and a huge four-leaf diffuser with integrated central exhaust pipes.
In the manufacture of the car, the Chinese used carbon fiber. The same lightweight material is also present in the dynamic hybrid’s interior. Inside the hypercar, we see a free-standing screen and a stylish sports steering wheel. Alcantara was used for finishing. The S9 can reach the conveyor as early as 2021 if the brand sticks to its original plan.
Meanwhile, the presentation of the Hongqi E-HS9 electric crossover took place. The car received two modifications, each of which is equipped with two electric motors. As always, the interior of the new car received a premium performance.
