Honda will bring to Tokyo an anniversary version of the iconic S2000 roadsterDecember 16, 2019
Honda has prepared several show cars for Tokyo Auto Salon, which is considered to be an analogue of the American SEMA exhibition.
As part of the Tokyo Auto Salon, which will open its doors on January 10, 2020, Honda is going to present the S2000 20th Anniversary Prototype. This show car is now called one of the most interesting exhibitors. The basis for the “anniversary” news was the serial roadster, whose conveyor life ended in 2009. This year, the model would have celebrated its 20th anniversary.
The guys from Honda Access decided to remind about this anniversary with the help of a special package of improvements, which included a new bumper, suspension elements and an audio system.
But the engine and transmission of the “anniversary” Honda S2000, apparently, got the standard. Recall that in the home market this roadster was equipped with a 2.2-liter 242-horsepower aspirated, working in tandem with the 6-speed manual transmission.
Another curious show car from Honda, which will be shown in Tokyo, is made in the “neo-Japanese” style. We are talking about the Civic Type R series GF-EK9, which successfully combines elements of the past and future. This does not end Honda’s participation in Tokyo Auto Salon: the brand will show the Step WGN multifunction minivan with a passenger wheelchair and a convertible interior, as well as the first Honda Aibou children’s car.
