Honda showed a car with improved autopilotMarch 4, 2021
The new autonomous driving system allows you to take your hands off the wheel.
The Japanese company Honda has unveiled the new Honda Sensing Elite safety system, which combines the new Traffic Jam Pilot, which is a level 3 autopilot approved by local authorities. For the first time, the new equipment will appear on the Legend Hybrid EX business sedan.
The new complex includes the most modern security systems, including the “autopilot” Traffic Jam Pilot, which takes control of the car in some situations, in particular in traffic jams. The car enthusiast can remove his hands from the steering wheel when cruise control is on, as well as an active lane keeping system.
The autopilot system controls acceleration, braking and steering when driving in the same lane, and helps the car to re-align in the event of an obstacle, such as a slower car.
The new technology has undergone a set of tests, during which 10 million possible road situations were simulated. In total, the new system has hit 1.3 million kilometers. Sedans equipped with Level 3 autopilot will be leased in Japan from March 5th.
