Concept car Honda Rugged Open Air Vehicle debuted on the show SEMA

At the SEMA show, there was a public debut of a prototype of a Honda SUV called Rugged Open Air Vehicle. According to the manufacturer, in the concept car combined serial models from different segments: a pickup truck Ridgeline and a buggy Pioneer 1000.

At the heart of the SUV is the Honda Ridgeline chassis with a modified suspension and body. From the concept car pickup partially got salon. The doors are taken from the serial version of the Pioneer 1000, the cargo platform and its door are made anew, but in the style of body panels buggy. The Pioneer 1000 SUV also received a steering wheel and seat trim material with water-repellent impregnation.

In addition, Rugged Open Air Vehicle was equipped with seats from a hot hatch Honda Civic Type R, holders for smartphones RAM Mounts. The dashboard is protected from dirt and water with the help of special durable lining.

SEMA also debuted the “expeditionary” version of the Honda Ridgeline pickup, built in collaboration with Jsport Performance Accessories. The car was equipped with bottom and sill protection, off-road wheels and a suspension lift kit. In addition, on the pickup set the steps, special systems for securing cargo and gasoline generator.
