The first images of the restyling four-door sedan new Honda Legend the manufacturer published in the fall, but officially the model was presented only now.

New Honda Legend Sedan is sold exclusively in the Japanese market, although in the United States a similar car was introduced last summer under the premium brand Acura. It’s about the model RLX, which is available to American buyers not only in the hybrid version, but also with the gasoline engine.

The design of the Legend flagship sedan differs from other Honda models, because it is made in the Acura style, including the characteristic design of the radiator grille, while the exterior of the other Honda is framed under the Civic presented a few years ago.

In addition to a different grille, the restyling sedan received new bumpers, headlights and taillights, and a hood. In the interior, almost nothing has changed – the seats have been refined, the decoration has changed. In addition, the car received a corporate complex of active security systems Honda Sensing, which includes adaptive cruise control and an automatic braking system.

Honda Legend is sold in Japan solely with a hybrid powerplant, which includes an atmospheric V6 in capacity of 3.5 liters with a return of 314 hp and 371 Nm in combination with an electric motor that develops 48 hp and 148 Nm, and a seven-speed preselective robotic transmission that is responsible for the rotation of the front wheels, while a pair of 37-horsepower electric motors (73 Nm) drive the rear wheels. The manufacturer said about improving the dynamics of the car.

In addition, the engineers of the brand managed to increase the volume of the trunk of the restyling sedan by 13 liters, and the trunk lid acquired an electric drive.

The sales of Honda Legend in the Japanese market fell from 830 vehicles in 2016 to 405 units in 2017, but due to the update the company expects to raise sales to 1,000 vehicles per year. The cost of the sedan in Japan is 7,074,000 yen.
