Honda has registered a new brand nameFebruary 20, 2019
Under the name “Honda e”, all future electric cars of the Japanese brand can be sold, although it is quite possible that this name is reserved for one single model.
According to official data, it is known that representatives of the Japanese brand Honda recently applied for the registration of a trademark (the names are valid in Switzerland and the entire European Union). It turned out to be “Honda e”, it is reported that this name will be used for vehicles.
The new name “Honda e” suggests that the Japanese manufacturer is already preparing a new electric sub-brand, or at least that is one of the new models.
We focus on the subbrand “under the wing” of Honda, as many automakers around the world do just that when it comes to all-electric cars. The German premium brand came up with Audi e-tron, BMW – ix, Mercedes-Benz – EQ.
The upcoming motor show in Geneva (to be held in March this year in Switzerland) is likely to be the largest event in the history of electric vehicles. So the Honda automaker has a chance to present a pre-production version of Urban EV.
I must say that the guys from Honda are a bit late with the creation of their environmentally friendly vehicle. Although, on the other hand, the company has successful experience with the Clarity PHEV hybrid model. Thus, we are confident that Honda will be able to succeed in the segment of pure electric cars, if it makes a real effort.
Not so long ago, we wrote that the Honda would close its only factory in the UK.
