Honda expects excitement in Europe for the new CR-V hybridFebruary 14, 2019
According to company representatives, the new hybrid will have to be taken up by the vacant diesel car segment. And it is expected about 60,000 car sales per year only in the European market.
The new CR-V Hybrid marks the return of Honda to regional policy, and will also be the first hybrid to be sold in the Old World. “This is the most important Honda update in the last 10 years,” said Dave Hodgetts, managing director of Honda in the UK.
It is expected that the new CR-V Hybrid will have a similar price with the bygone diesel model. The power plant, built on the principle of “soft hybrid” combines a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with Honda Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD). The company will also introduce a new gearbox. The total power of the power unit is 180 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque.
Honda’s hybrid crossover has three ride settings: EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive. EV Drive – uses only an electric motor, but the range is only 2 km due to the modest battery. Hybrid Drive – the actual combination of the internal combustion engine and electric motor, and the latter mode uses only the internal combustion engine. Fuel consumption in mixed mode will be about 5.3 liters.
Sales Honda CR-V Hybrid will start in March this year. There is no exact price yet.
