Honda electric bike at the Tokyo Motor Show
March 27, 2019At the motor show, in addition to automobiles, manufacturers also demonstrate their experience in the motorcycle industry. This time, Honda brought the electric CR CR, and its subsidiary Mugen – the cross-country electrocycle E.Rex.
The CR Electric motorcycle is built on the same chassis as its gasoline counterpart CRF250R with a 250cc engine. However, what kind of power plant is inside the prototype is unknown. Also, the Japanese did not disclose other details about it. It is assumed that the electric cycle used the workings of another prototype – Mugen Shinden, because the masters of the subsidiary tuning studio took part in its creation.
Tuners themselves on the wave of electrification of transport presented an E.Rex crossbike with an interesting design. From the same CR Electric, it differs in a different body kit and colors.
Most of the elements of the chassis and the electric drive of the prototypes are the same. In the kit you can see ribbed side fairings, resembling gills. Made it for better cooling.
In both cases, the manufacturer did not report on the serial production of new products. Note that recently there was news about the new FIM E-Bike Enduro standings. Maybe there will be off-road E.Rex.
