Honda Civic Type R 2020 model year officially presentedJanuary 10, 2020
The “charged” version underwent a slight restyling, receiving new design details, a more aggressive look, and improved aerodynamics. In the technical part, everything remained the same.
Only recently, Honda has updated the regular version of its Civic, as well as a modification with the Si index, and the new version of the Honda Civic Type R has already debuted. Presentation of the 2020 model year was held at the opening of the Tokyo Automobile Salon. The main emphasis of restyling is on design. There are minor changes in the standard equipment, and in the suspension settings.
At first glance, the “charged” new product, it becomes clear that the company “pulled” the design to the younger models. In the front, you can note the new grille, a new blue body color, created specifically for the Civic Type R, as well as a new aerodynamic body kit. A new steering wheel with Alcantara slinky, a new gearshift lever appeared in the cabin.
Restyling brought very few technical changes. The brake system was modified, which now uses the new two-section calipers, as well as brake pads of an optimized shape.
In addition, the model received a readjustment of the suspension with new shock absorbers that increase comfort during normal driving. At the same time, the rear suspension has become a little stiffer, which increases traction, and the front has been modified to improve handling.
Under the hood, a 2.0-liter turbo engine is installed, capable of developing up to 306 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Paired with him is a six-speed manual transmission.
