Cars & Bids have posted an ad for the sale of a homemade sports car that is inspired by the Lotus 7.
The replica built on the basis of Toyota was named Locost 7 by the owner as a low-cost variation of the original Lotus model.
The basis for the homemade product was the 1985 Toyota Corolla coupe. In addition to various parts and assemblies, the low-cost “Lotus” got a 4-cylinder Corolla engine with a volume of 1.8 liters and two Weber carburetors. Together with the 120-horsepower engine, a 5-speed manual transmission and a rear-wheel drive system function.
Among the problems of the car, the ad noted scratches on the rear fender, the need to adjust the headlights, a backlash in the steering column and an oil leak in the front of the engine. In addition, the unit needs to adjust the carburetors. The car comes with a spare transmission, the technical condition of which is not disclosed, and an awning cover.
