High-performance version of the Mercedes-AMG C53 seen on testsMarch 11, 2020
The car should get a new power plant. But the official presentation should not wait until 2021.
German automaker Mercedes-Benz continues to test the next-generation C-Class cars. This time, a sports modification called AMG C-53 was noticed during the tests. The car is hidden in a dense layer of camouflage, however, through it, the Panamericana brand radiator grille is visible. Compared with the C-Class, which was seen in tests earlier, this prototype can be seen dual tailpipes of the exhaust system, which indicates the presence of a more powerful engine.
Also, different wheels are installed on the car, which immediately indicates only the first tests, so the appearance of the novelty will change more than once. But with the power unit, certainty is somewhat more. According to photo spies, the prototype made the sound of a four-cylinder engine.
This almost certainly means that he will get a 2.0-liter engine with 416 horsepower, which is installed on the AMG A45 S.
It will be necessary to wait for the official presentation of the novelty until 2021, since the premiere of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is expected at the end of 2020. And AMG modifications are usually presented a year later.
