Here’s how doorknob doors open on the Ford Mustang Mach-e electric crossoverNovember 20, 2019
To get into the cabin of an electric vehicle, you must click on the secret button
The recently introduced Ford Mustang Mach-e crossover received an unusual door opening system: instead of traditional handles on the racks, there are small buttons for unlocking the locks. After that, it is enough to pull the door towards you by the small ledge. Jalopnik reporters demonstrated how this works.
The Mustang-inspired Mach-e electric crossover was shown by the United States last weekend. During the premiere, journalists examined the car closer and found out that the doors are unlocked with buttons, both rear and front. Then it became known that the car can be opened with a smartphone – a similar technology is used in Tesla electric vehicles.
The main competitor to the Ford Mustang Mach-e will be the Tesla Model Y. At the same time, the starting price of the Mustang crossover is 43 thousand dollars against 47 thousand for the base Model Y.
Ford has already opened accepting orders for the new product, but so far only four-wheel drive crossovers from the limited edition First Edition are available for $ 59.9 thousand. Prepayment for an electric car is $ 500.
Later, a rear-wheel drive version with a 75.7-kilowatt-hour battery and a GT-variant with a 98.8-kilowatt-hour battery will enter the market. Cruising range, depending on the modification, varies from 340 to 600 kilometers.
