As part of this article, we decided to collect all the facts that we know about the new version of the Japanese compact car – from appearance to powertrains.

Inspired by the 2017 VIZIV Performance Concept, the redesigned WRX features a sleek exterior while retaining the same front doors, bucket bonnet and headlights as the new Levorg station wagon. The front end of the vehicle is aggressively dynamic and includes LED hawk-eye headlights, a striking trapezoidal radiator grille and beveled wheel arches.

The ambience of Subaru’s signature “Dynamic X Solid” design is evident throughout the embossed surface, especially around the doors and rear.

The rear view is much more muscular than any previous WRX. The novelty will feature four tailpipes, a large diffuser panel, triangular angled vents and taillights connected by an illuminated strip across the trunk.

The next WRX is based on Subaru’s global platform, which offers improved handling and safety. The interior of the sedan will now be more modern – it is reported that it will be similar to the salon of the new Levorg station wagon.

Subaru’s new EyeSight X driver assistance system will be available, which uses 360-degree sensing via radars and cameras with well-defined map data, allowing for Level 2 semi-autonomous driving.

The 2.0-liter FA20F and the 2.5-liter turbocharged EJ engine are rumored to be replaced with one engine: the 2.4-liter four-cylinder FA24F turbocharged. Used in the Ascent, Legacy and Outback three-row crossovers, it produces 260 hp. (277 Nm). For the WRX, its power will be 300 horsepower, and in the WRX STI version – all 400 hp.

We expect the new Subaru WRX to be officially unveiled in early 2021 as new for the 2022 model year. Expect prices for the base WRX to start at around $ 30,000

Not so long ago, our publication wrote about how to make a rally car from a Subaru Crosstrek crossover. The tuner has unveiled a suspension lift kit for the Japanese crossover Subaru Crosstrek. The ride height can be increased for $ 549.95.
