Hennessey is preparing a package of upgrades for the electric Porsche TaycanSeptember 25, 2019
The Texas tuning masters prepared for the German electric sedan both external changes and a number of interesting changes regarding the technical part. Porsche Taycan by Hennessey will be presented in 2020
When you hear about the projects of the famous Texas tuning studio Hennessey, what comes to mind first? Probably very powerful and very loud V8 engines. Yes and yes again – these guys like to install high-performance motors practically in their projects, and this is what they have been doing for the past 30 years.
But the automotive industry is changing – now all the world’s automakers are recognizing that the future is with electric cars. So the company Hennessey Performance Engineering is preparing to tackle its first electric vehicle project. The German electric Porsche Taycan sedan was chosen as the basis for the project.
So what will the Hennessey guys change in an electric car? To begin with, they will change the external and internal appearance. Well, then they will make some important changes to the electric power unit.
The change program, which received the HPE Porsche designation, is already ready, but only in theory – the company has not yet managed to apply all the upgrades to a real electric car – the fact is that Porsche Taycan will reach the USA only next year. So far there is a computer visualization of the machine.
“We have long planned to present a tuning project for electrified cars,” said company founder John Hennessey. “The new Porsche Taycan is the perfect choice for us, as our first electric car. Some of our customers have already expressed a desire to quickly see what we can do with electric cars.”
