Hear the new BMW M4 Competition growl menacinglySeptember 26, 2020
A video has appeared on the Internet showing the powerful exhaust sound of the 2021 BMW M4 Competition Coupe. Under the hood of the car is a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder BMW engine with twin turbocharging.
The official presentation of the high-performance BMW M3 (sedan) and M4 (coupe) took place this week. The automaker spoke about all the features of the new 2021 model year, but one thing was missing – we did not hear the sound of the exhaust system of these powerful cars. Fortunately, a new video from the WorldSupercars YouTube channel gives us a chance to listen to the menacing growl of the BMW M4.
The video above captures the exhaust sound when starting the engine, idling and increasing the engine speed of the new BMW M4, there are also sounds of lumbago.
Power in the new M4 Competition comes from BMW’s 3.0-liter inline-six twin turbocharged engine. Its power is 503 horsepower (650 Nm). An eight-speed automatic transmission is offered as a transmission. All-wheel drive will become an available option after the car goes on sale next year.
The exhaust sound of the M4 is pleasant but “harsh” without annoying. It certainly matches the vehicle’s specifications. The coupe can accelerate to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds. Its maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h, but this figure can be slightly increased by purchasing the M Driver package – the maximum speed will be 290 km / h.
The BMW M4 and M4 Competition will go on sale next spring with a starting price of $ 74,700 for the M4 Competition. The regular M4 will be $ 2,900 cheaper
