Hear the menacing growl of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing SedanSeptember 22, 2020
A pair of prototypes of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sedan have emerged as part of the ongoing Michigan Auto Show (USA). Under the hood of the high-performance new products is a powerful supercharged V8 engine.
Two partially camouflaged CT5-V Blackwing sedan prototypes appeared at a special event near Detroit, USA. In the video, you can see the duo wearing black and white camouflage on the front and rear bumpers. The video also gives us a great chance to hear the menacing exhaust sound of a high-performance novelty.
After a short run through the area where the show is taking place, the two prototypes have swiftly departed, and there is no doubt that powerful supercharged V8 engines are installed under their hoods. Not only do cars sound good, they also feel very fast.
The supercharged V8, which will be used in the CT5-V Blackwing, is implied to be the same 6.2-liter unit that powers the Chevrolet Camaro in the more powerful ZL1.
It is possible, though, that Cadillac will customize this engine to suit its specific needs. Even if he leaves the powertrain intact, the latter will have at least 650 hp. (880 Nm). This will give the car a power advantage over European competitors such as the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S and BMW M5 Competition, which develop around 600 hp.
In August, Cadillac unveiled a steering wheel that will be used in the CT5-V Blackwing and the smaller and less powerful CT4-V Blackwing. The steering wheel has a red stripe at 12 o’clock, as well as carbon fiber accents and a large V-mode button. There is also a button that provides access to the Performance Traction Management system.
