Hamilton: I myself was already thinking about a breakMay 12, 2020
In a Mercedes video, Lewis Hamilton admitted that in recent years he had thought about taking a break, so a forced pause was very useful …
Lewis Hamilton: “In fact, I’m not a very public person. I like to spend time alone. It is important for each of us to find some time for ourselves. I worked a lot, all the time I was in a crazy rhythm when it is not easy to find the optimal balance between work, training and rest.
Over the past five years, I have thought several times that it would be worth taking a break for psychological and physical health. But I did not dare to do this. Agree, it would be strange that an athlete in his best form suddenly decides to skip the season and then return. Because of the coronavirus, we all ended up in a forced break – and I’m trying to make the most of it. I feel even healthier and fresher than ever.
This is a great opportunity to work on troubleshooting. In training, you always pay more attention to large muscles, forgetting about small ones. Now I am doing exercises for the calf muscles, for the buttocks, working on shaping my body. To reach a new level of physical fitness, you need to constantly ask yourself: in what areas can you still add?
I had to get used to the fact that now I am in the same place all the time. But I felt incredibly concentrated, firmly standing on the ground with two legs. I am happy from dawn to sunset. “I like to shape my day myself, keeping it fresh and concentrated.”
