Hamilton called Pagani Zonda a machine with terrible handlingJuly 25, 2018
Four-time champion of Formula 1 Lewis Hamilton called Pagani Zonda “the most badly controlled car.” The rider believes that the supercar has a fantastic sound, but it is uncomfortable to control, especially in the version with a robotic gearbox. This is the pilot of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team said in an interview with The Sunday Times.
“I chose the version with the manual gearbox, because I do not like how the tiptronic works,” Hamilton says. – The Pagani box is worse than the one that stood on my Smart Roadster. I’m more demanding than most customers, as I’m used to fast switching, so if I were developing my supercar, it would have to be a manual transmission”.
In the collection of Hamilton there are more exclusive cars. Among them – Shelby Cobra 427 of the 1966 model, before buying which he consulted with Carroll Shelby himself, that he gave a conclusion about the state of the machine. Later, Hamilton bought another “Cobra”, 1967, to keep the car in 1966 in the original state.
In addition, the driver owns the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 1967, which he calls “a bunch of trash” and notes that in the car he likes only how the body is painted.
In the near future, the Hamilton collection, which consists of 15 cars, will be replenished with the super hybrid Mercedes-AMG Project One. Also in his plans to buy a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL coupe and a dream car – the Ferrari 250GT California Spyder.
