Great Wall introduced a spectacular sedan in retro styleSeptember 27, 2020
The automaker Great Wall Motor has organized a presentation of the Chaopai concept sedan at the Beijing Auto Show.
This car stands out for its spectacular design, made in neoclassical style. The body with pronounced three volumes, plastic outer panels, chrome trim remind of European and Japanese cars of the 1960s.
Chaopai was designed by Briton Phil Simmons. He has been with the Chinese company since the year before last, and before that was the director of exteriors at Land Rover. The interior, in particular, was made in retro style; of the remarkable features here it should be noted the presence of a horizontal architecture of the front panel, ventilation deflectors and a round-shaped instrument cluster.
The technical characteristics of the car are not disclosed at the moment. Surely, the public was presented only with a mock-up demonstrator, which has a complete design, but with no technical stuffing.
As noted, Chaopai is a harbinger of a mass model, which is expected to hit the market in the next few years.
In addition, more recently it became known that the Rolls-Royce Ghost sedan has acquired a long-wheelbase variation. It should be emphasized that such a car is driven by a 6.75-liter V12 engine with a capacity of 571 hp. (850 Nm).
