GMC Sierra pickup unveiled in new CarbonPro EditionApril 11, 2019
From now on, the American truck will be available in a version of CarbonPro Edition, which will be released in limited edition. The price is not reported, but it is known that the batch production of the novelty is scheduled for the beginning of June of this year.
When the American brand GMC introduced an updated version of the Sierra pickup a year ago, it was detailed about the carbon fiber cargo platform, which will be available as an option. It took a little time, but finally, official sources reported that the new version of the pickup, which will be called CarbonPro Edition, will go on sale this summer. This pickup version, available only on Sierra Denali 1500 and AT4 1500 models, will be offered in limited editions.
“CarbonPro is made from the same material from which expensive supercars are made, by the way it is also used in aerospace engineering,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global GMC. “Combined with the offering of the world’s first MultiPro six-function tailgate, the Sierra 2019 offers one or two traction drills for any situation.”
The key advantage of the CarbonPro Edition is less weight. GMC says the composite cargo platform reduces the total weight by 27 kg. It is also reported that through the use of carbon fiber, the additional strength of this platform is achieved.
The big question that still remains unanswered is how much a pickup version with a carbon fiber cargo platform will cost. As noted by Mr. Aldred, carbon fiber is often associated with exotic cars, which cost six and seven figures, but we will try to reduce the price as much as possible. It is known that the production of the version of CarbonPro Editon will begin in early June.
