GMC reveals revived Hummer’s “crab mode”September 15, 2020
The premiere of newest car Hummer is scheduled for October 20
The GMC brand, which will be releasing a revived Hummer with an electric motor, showed in a short teaser how the mysterious Crab Mode or “crab mode” works.
Judging by the video, the electric SUV will be able to move not quite sideways, like a crab, but diagonally. For this Hummer will be taught to turn all four wheels in one direction at the same time. It is expected that such a mode, which can be of assistance when performing parallel parking, will be offered as an option.
“Sometimes the biggest leaps forward are made on the diagonal,” the brand accompanied the video with this signature.
In addition, GMC has revealed the date of the premiere of the electric car, which will take place on October 20 this year. At the same time, acceptance of orders for the revived Hummer, built on the BT1 platform, a version of the GMT T1XX architecture, which lies in the base of the Chevrolet Tahoe, will open.
The novelty will be released in the back of an SUV and a pickup truck with an electric power plant, consisting of three motors with a total capacity of more than 1000 horsepower. The installation will be able to accelerate the Hummer from standstill to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) in about three seconds.
