GMC publishes new teaser for its electric Hummer truckJuly 30, 2020
The press service of the American automaker has published a new teaser video dedicated to the GMC Hummer electric pickup. The new Hummer will be shown this fall.
We’ll finally see the all-electric GMC Hummer pickup this fall. Unfortunately, the company has not yet provided the exact date of the premiere of the new product. It is also known that the serial production of the pickup will start in the fall of 2021.
GMC plans to unveil the Hummer EV during an online event, but it looks like the event could be more than a standard live broadcast. “In showing the electric pickup, we will be using virtual and augmented reality technologies,” said GM CEO Mary Barra.
The sale of the Hummer EV in the fall of 2021 means that the pickup could arrive around the same time as the Tesla Cybertruck, and may even be more popular than it.
The electric Hummer truck will boast over 1000 horsepower (745 kilowatts) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in three seconds. The announcement of the new product’s debut date also says the truck is capable of “remarkable on-road and off-road capabilities.”
The power plant will use the new Ultium batteries produced by the American concern General Motor, which can support power from 50 kilowatt * hours to 200 kW * h. The ability to quickly charge Level 2 and DC up to 350 kilowatts should allow them to recharge quickly enough.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the tuner SVE presented a heavily modernized GMC Syclone pickup. The American truck SVE Syclone 2021 model year received a 750-horsepower V8 engine and AWD automatic all-wheel drive system. A total of 50 copies of the novelty will be released.
